John, Bryce and Anthony     The Boys

Dear Volunteer:

Thank you for your interest in becoming a Camp Love's Embrace volunteer.  The camp is held each year in mid-May.  All volunteers will need to be available from Friday afternoon until the close of the camp Sunday afternoon.  The therapists involved with the camp will hold a mentor orientation and training Friday afternoon.   The campers will begin arriving with their families around 6:00 PM Friday night. After a family meal and some ice breaker games the camp will begin for the weekend.  The camp will close on Sunday afternoon around 4:00 p.m. with the campers, their families, and all volunteers attending a closing memorial service and ice cream social.

All volunteers chosen to participate must be at least 19 years of age and must agree to a criminal background check.  Volunteers will be chosen for one-to-one Big Buddy/Little Buddy mentors or various other volunteer activities.  Mostly, the mentor's job will be simply listening as these children share their stories of their lost loved ones with you and the group.  There will be lots of fun activities and crafts for mentors to participate in, as well as "healing circles" which will be led by trained therapists.

If you are interested in being a mentor to a child, or if you desire to volunteer in another capacity (i.e. crafts, outdoor activities, photography, helping set up camp or take down, cooking, etc.) please download all links at the top of this page and complete the forms, indicating your preference of volunteer activity and mail them to:
